My Experience:
Throughout my career in healthcare, I have consistently been captivated by the remarkable capacity of the human body to heal itself. My professional journey has spanned a decade, during which I have dedicated myself to the specialized field of advanced wound care. Over this time, I have not only established but also effectively overseen and managed two distinct wound care centers. This experience has allowed me to refine my expertise across various therapeutic modalities, enabling me to effectively treat a wide spectrum of patients with diverse wound-related challenges, from complex cases to more minor non-healing wounds.
I also have had the privilege of providing essential healthcare services on the Navajo Reservation. This unique opportunity allowed me to deliver both primary care and wound management in some of the most remote and underserved areas of Arizona. It was a profoundly rewarding experience that expanded my understanding of healthcare disparities and deepened my commitment to improving access to quality care for all individuals, regardless of their geographic location.
Additionally, I was privileged to serve as an adjunct educator at Olympic Community College in Port Angeles, Washington, where I have had the honor of instructing first-year nursing students. My focus in teaching has revolved around wound, skin, and ostomy care, which aligns with my deep passion for healing. This opportunity to educate not only students but also train and direct healthcare staff and, perhaps most importantly, the patients themselves has been a source of great personal fulfillment. My commitment to healing extends beyond clinical practice; it is deeply rooted in the belief that empowering others with knowledge and understanding is an integral part of the healing process.
